Warm & Cool Color lesson at UMAR Arts Center

I recently had the privilege of working with a group of artists from the UMAR Arts Center. Check out the center at -  www.noda.org/art/item/umar-arts-center.

I have been teaching the artists about Visual Journaling and each of them is now keeping their own journal. I am also planning a series of lessons to teach them more about color and color theory as it relates to painting. They are doing the lessons in their journals in order to keep them for future reference.

This lessons was on Warm & Cool Colors. They first created one page with a warm background and one page with a cool background by mixing different colors of acrylic paint. They each drew, painted, and cut out original images to glue on top of the backgrounds when they were dry. Some examples of what they drew were, trees, flowers, and light houses.
